NNREC STAFF ROLES
The NNREC staff team has a Director, Administrative Officer, Race Equality Officer,
Community Cohesion & Diversity Officer and Community Cohesion & Discrimination Law Project Co-ordinator.
The Director is the overall line manager and has specific responsibility for Policy Development which
acquaints organisations, agencies and employers in the statutory, non-statutory, private, and voluntary
sectors, with the extent and nature of racial discrimination and inequality experienced by racial
groups in the field of social welfare and in particular the fields of housing, employment, education
and health care.
The AO is responsible for all aspects of administration and the implementation of Core Standards as it
relates to the working and operation of the organisation, administration and coordination to all NNREC
projects and events, and NNREC's financial administration.
The REO is responsible for all race discrimination and harassment casework investigations. In addition
the REO has responsibility for education and schools work in terms of policy, promotion and
implementation of the CRE Learning for All guidelines, and employment as regards to policy and
practices.
The CCDO has a specific remit under 4 key areas: Community Cohesion, Supporting the BME Network &
Newsletter, Supporting the Youth Board and work with young people, Organising anti-racist events
including the Black History Month Programme.
The PA carries out project specific administrative duties for all of NNREC's active projects. The
role has a particular emphasis on co-ordinating the Community Cohesion & Discrimination Law
project as well as identifying sustainable funding sources for NNREC projects and future work
programmes, which capacity build the organisation.
The key tasks of this post are to support BME families and communities who suffer domestic violence
and to report on the progression of these actions through support and co-ordination of the BME
Domestic Violence Advisory Group.
The role of this post is to research the capacity of the voluntary sector to cater for BME needs. The
Research Officer reports to a joint-agency management team and is housed within the County Councils'
Planning and Transportation Department (Demography and Information Team).
